What to bring for a day on the Aegean

Keep your bag simple

For a cruise, a compact bag is easier to keep together than several loose items. Begin with your booking confirmation and anything the operator specifically asks you to bring. The activity’s current instructions take priority over a general packing guide.

Sun, water and a change of clothes

Bring sun protection that suits your needs, sunglasses and a hat you can keep secure. If your itinerary includes swimming and you intend to join in, pack swimwear and a dry layer for afterwards. Check whether towels are included before putting one in your bag.

A small waterproof pouch can help protect your phone and essentials from splashes. Do not assume that a normal day bag will stay completely dry on a boat.

One extra layer

A light outer layer gives you flexibility when the breeze picks up or the trip continues into the evening. Choose comfortable clothing that lets you move easily around the boat. Check the operator’s footwear guidance rather than planning around a particular shoe style.

Ask what is already provided

Before adding water, snacks, a towel or equipment, read the inclusions. Meal and drink arrangements differ between activities and options. If you have dietary requirements, contact the provider ahead of time so you know what can be accommodated.

Leave room in your schedule, too

Packing is only part of preparation. Read your pickup messages, check where you need to be and leave enough time to arrive. Save your return arrangements, especially if you have booked an evening departure.
